ציפורן חתול צהובה ומגנוליה זהובה,
הבא לי אותם, הו הבא;
ולא, בשיער פרוע, יום וליל אבכה.
כל ידידיי אל השוק הלכו;
לאורך הדרך הם דילגו ורקדו.
לא נתת לי ללכת ואף לא הבאת לי פרחים–
בתנור לא אגע; עגיל לא אענוד לאוזני.
על כך, מאת אלוהינו הדין יינתן, הוא אשר שני לו אין;
לי גרמת כאב, לא הבאת ולו פרח אחד בודד.
